Mica Powder Raku Firing | Dallas Creative Arts Center | American Raku

In this video I share our American raku firing day at the Dallas Creative Arts Center. This is an American raku process, that is inspired by, but nothing exactly like traditional Japanese raku firing. In this firing, we are using mica powder in a terra sigillata in combination with horse hair and sugar for localized reduction effects. This was an amazing firing technique that produced some amazing results, and I am very thankful to have had to opportunity to participate.
